The Council consists of seven members elected for 4 year terms, one of whom is the Mayor and another, known as Council-at- large whom serves as Vice President of the Council. Mayor and Council-at-large are elected city-wide by qualified voters. The other five Councilmembers are representatives elected from each Ward by the qualified voters of the respective Wards. All Council meetings are conducted on the first and third Mondays of every month at 7:00pm, and are held at the Berkeley City Hall. The public is always invited to attend.
