POSITION: MAINTENANCE WORKER/BUS DRIVER

JOB SUMMARY


This is an hourly position responsible for park maintenance and transportation. The pay is $14.87 hourly. 
This dual position consisting of 60% maintenance work and 40% transportation. This is semi-skilled
manual work in the maintenance and upkeep of city parks and facilities and/or roadway trees and
plants. As a van/bus driver for the Berkeley Senior Club, the safety of those being transported is the
number one priority.

An employee assigned to this classification performs a variety
of tasks including the care and maintenance of grounds; the operation of lawn maintenance
equipment; the repair and construction of park equipment; and care of plants, trees, and other
landscaping materials in the right of ways, roadway medians and/or storm water basins.


May be called in to perform work weekend and after hours, weekends and holidays. Scheduled
hours are varying according to the needs of the senior citizens. Occasional weekend or evening
shifts may be required for special events or tours. As a van/bus driver for the Berkeley Senior
Club, the safety of those being transported is the number one priority. This position requires an
ability to perform a full range of duties as assigned, working independently and exercising good
judgment.


Experience in driving a 20-passenger bus and 15-passenger van/bus with lift.


The successful candidate must possess any combination of training, education, and experience
equivalent to 3 years. Must be able to pass background check, physical and drug test. A valid
CDL driver’s license is a must with passenger endorsement.
